Octreotide combined with compound salvia miltiorrhiza injection for treatment of acute pancreatitis

    • Objective:To observe the effect of octreotide combined with compound salvia miltiorrhiza injection on patients with acute pancreatitis(AP).Methods:Forty-four patients with AP were randomly divided into control group 23 cases and observation group 21 cases. The control group,in addition to the routine therapy of forbidding food, decompressing stomach and intestines, were given intravenous pump injection of 0.6 mg octreotide in normal saline 48 ml at a rate of 2 ml/h(0.025 mg/h).The observation group received intravenousdrip of compound salvia miltiorrhiza injection of 250 ml besides the above therapy. The time of disappearance of the symptoms, abdominal signs, amylase of urine and blood, and the time of hospital stay were observed and compared. Results:The time of disappearance of amylase of urine and blood after treatment in observation group was shorter than that in the control group(P<0.01).And the time of disappearance of abdominal pain and hospital stay was shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions:Compound salvia miltiorrhiza combined with octreotide can obviously improve the symptoms and signs of patients with AP.
