Investigations of the bacteria on surface of mobile phone and hand hygiene of medical staff in emergency department

Objective: To investigate the relationship between the bacteria on the surface of mobile phone and hand hygiene in medical staff in emergency department.Methods: The bacteria culture and sensitivity test of the surface of mobile phone of 12 medical staff in emergency department were investigated for 3 days,the results of which were compared with those of the patients' specimens.Results: The 9 bacterial strains,such as Staphylococcus aureus,Staphylococcus epidermidis,Escherichia coli,Klebsiella pneumonia,Bauman Acinetobacter and so on(including 2 extensively drug-resistant bacteria strains of Staphylococcus aureus and Bauman Acinetobacter),on the surface of mobile phone of medical staff were detected by bacteria culture.The 12 bacterial strains,such as Staphylococcus aureus,Staphylococcus epidermidis,Escherichia coli,Klebsiella pneumonia,Bauman Acinetobacter and so on(including 3 extensively drug-resistant bacteria strains of Staphylococcus aureus,Bauman Acinetobacter and Escherichia coli),in patients' specimens were detected by bacteria culture.Conclusions: The mobile phone of medical stuff may be the media of bacterial cross infection.
