Abstract
Objective: To investigate the role of cognitive behavioral therapy(CBT) in the restoration process in patients with post-stroke depression(PSD).Methods: Forty patients with PSD were randomly divided into observation group and control group. The control group were administered only Amitriptyline for oral use, while the observation group received CBT in addition to Amitriptyline. All the patients were evaluated by Hamilton depression scale(HAMD) every two months from the first month to the eleventh month after the attack. Results: After using CBT for six months, the HAMD in the observation group was significantly lowered compared with that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions: CBT has an obvious effect on patients with PSD in the restoration process.
