Study on the causes of chronic cough in children: Report of 60 cases

Objective: To explore the causes of chronic cough in children.Methods: The causes of chronic cough in 60 children were analyzed.Results: Among the 60 cases of chronic cough in children,emycoplasma pneumoniae infection accounted for 24 cases,cough variant asthma 20 cases,tuberculosis 9 cases,postnasal drip syndrome 7 cases,foreign body in trachea 3 cases and gastroesophageal reflux 2 cases.Single cause was found in 55 cases and double causes were found in 5 cases.Conclusions: The main causes of chronic cough in children were mycoplasma pneumoniae infection,cough variant asthma,tuberculosis and postnasal drip syndrome.
