Abstract
Objective:To reconstruct and visualize the three-dimensional model of the precentral sulcus and its adjacent domains for stereotactic anatomy, interventional radiology and minimal invasive surgery. Methods:The precentral sulcus, longitudinal fissure, the lateral ventricle, the cerebrum surface profile of the head were identified and segmented on MRI transverse of six healthy volunteer's heads, and their three-dimensional models were reconstructed in 3D-Doctor software package with the method of surface rendering. Results:The first successful three-dimensional model of the precentral sulcus was reconstructed. The precentral sulcus, other interesting structures and their spatial relations were observed in three-dimensional virtual space in random angles. Conclusions:It is hoped that the three-dimensional reconstruction and visualization of the precentral sulcus based on the MRI would benefit for the study of neuroanatomy, stereotactic neurosurgery, remote imaging diagnosis and multimedia teaching.
