    Analysis of perioperative management of 18 aged patients with gastric carcinoma

    • Objective: To discuss the clinical characteristics and the rational perioperative management of aged patients with gastric carcinoma.Methods: Clinical data of 18 patients with gastric carcinoma over 70 years old were analyzed retrospectively.Ten cases were received radical resection,and 8 cases received nonredicial resection.Results: Five cases of patients showed complications and two cases of patients died from the operation.The mortality rate of all patients was 6.16%.Conclusions: Aged patients with gastric carcinoma were characteristic by most cases in the late stage,and more postoperative complications.Enhancing perioperative management can reduce the risk of operation,postoperative complications and mortality rate.
