Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical effects of pelvic radiotherapy combined with cisplatin chemotherapy for treatment of stage Ⅲ cervical cancer. Methods: Ninety patients received pelvic radiotherapy combined with cisplatin chemotherapy while 74 patients underwent radiotherapy alone. Results: Five-year survival rates in chemo-radiotherapy group and in radiotherapy group were 60.0 and 43.2 respectively(P<0.05).Local control rates were 57.8 and 37.8 respectively(P<0.05).Distant metastasis rates were 35.6 and 33.8 respectively(P>0.05).Rectal complications were 11.1 and 10.8 respectively(P>0.05).Bladder complications were 6.7 and 6.8 respectively(P>0.05).There was no treatment mortality. Conclusions: The pelvic radiotherapy combined with cisplatin chemotherapy for treatment of stage Ⅲ cervical cancer can improve the local control rate and 5-year survival rate except the distant metastasis rate.Side effects can be alleviated.
