Clinical and MRI features of demyelinating disease in children: A report of 38 cases

Objective: To investigate the clinical and MRI features of demyelinating in children disease.Methods: Thirty eight cases of demyelinating disease were analyzed retrospectively.Results: The brain MRI of 20 cases with multiple selerosis and 18 cases with acute disseminated encephalomyelitis were all abnormal.MRI showed T₁W₁isosignal or low signal focus and T₂W₁ high signal focus in the matter,basal nuclci,brain stem and cerebellum.Conclusions: Demylinizing disease in children dispays diversified clinical manifestation.MRI may be used as a means for early diagnosis of demyelinating in children.
