Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effect of blood storage time on the results of automatic blood cell analyzer for normal and pathological specimens at room temperature. Methods:The blood samples of 40 healthy persons and 20 hematologic patients were collected to be analyzed in 20 minutes. Then, the remnant blood samples were analyzed respectively after being stored for 8,9,10,11,12 and 24 hours at room temperature(25±0.5)℃,and the results were compared with thats in 20 minutes as controls. Results:The result of platelet in 40 blood samples were decreased obviously at 11th hour, and had significant differences with controls(P<0.05). At 24th hour, the percentage of neutrophils was decreased while the ratio of lymphocytes and monocytes was increased obviously(P<0.05). The results of red blood cells and platelet from pathological specimens were significantly lower than controls(P<0.05). Conclusions:The repeatability and the level of preanalytical quality control could be enhanced when the samples were analyzed within 10 hours at room temperature.
