Surgical experiences of laparoscopic cholecystectomy with three holes:report of 3 520 cases

Abstract
Objective: To explore the method and experience of laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) with three holes. Methods: The clinical data of 3 520 cases accepted the routine LC with three holes were retrospectively analyzed. Results: Three thousand three hundred and ninety-seven cases underwent successful LC, while 75 cases were converted to LC with four-hole,48 cases switch to cholecystectomy through laparotomy. The mean operation time for LC with three holes was 32 min. The average length of hospital stay was 3.6 days. There were no death and serious complications after the surgery in all cases. Conclusions: The method of LC with three holes is safe and reliable.
