    Core stability training combined with alternating electromagnetic field therapy for treatment of central coordination disorder

    • Objective: To discuss the effect of the core stability training combined with alternating electromagnetic field therapy for treatment of central coordination disorder.Methods: Ninety-five children with central coordination disorder of the spastic type were randomly divided into four groups:traditional group(n=23 cases),observation group(n=26 cases),training group(n=24 cases) and alternating electromagnetic field(EMF) group(n=22 cases).The children in the traditional group were given only the routine rehabilitation training;the observation group received the core stability training combined with alternating electromagnetic field therapy,the training group received the core stability training and the EMF group received the alternating electromagnetic field therapy,all in addition to the routine rehabilitation training.The effect was evaluated by Bayley motor development index(PDI) and motor function.Results: The PDI of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the training group and the EMF group(P<0.01);the PDI of the training group and the electromagnetic field group was significantly higher than that of the traditional group(P<0.01).The follow- up results showed that the motor function index of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the traditional group(P<0.01);The rates of normal head-raising in the training group and normal popliteal angle in the electromagnetic field group were higher than those in the traditional group(P<0.01).Conclusions: Traditional rehabilitation therapy in combination with core stability training and alternating electromagnetic field therapy is more effective than traditional rehabilitation therapy alone in treatment of central coordination disorder.
