Combined therapy of nebulized budesonide suspension plus terbutaline sulphate aerosol inhalation for chronic obstructive disease at acute exacerbation phase

Objective: To evaluate the therapy of inhaling nebulized budesonide suspension combined with terbutaline sulphate for treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD) at acute exacerbations phase.Methods: Sixty-five patients with AECOPD were randomly divided into observed group(33 cases) and control group(32 cases).Both groups were administered the therapy of oxygen inhalation,anti-infection and intravenous aminophylline.On the basis of routine therapy,the patients in the observed group were given nebulized budesonide suspension inhalation and terbutaline sulphate,and the control group were ministered only terbutaline sulphate inhalation;then the clinical manifestation,blood gas analysis,and FEV₁% at baseline and 7-10 days after treatment were determined.Results: The PaO₂,PaCO₂ and FEV₁% were significantly different in the treatment group before and after the therapy(P<0.01).The response rate was 90.9% and 68.8% in the observed group and the control group respectively(P>0.05).The difference was not significant.Conclusions: The therapy of inhaling nebulized budesonide suspension combing with terbutaline sulphate aerosol may effectively relieve the symptoms of AECOPD.It's the choice therapy for AECOPD.
