Nursing of 49 cases of hand-foot-mouth disease

Objective: To summarize the experience in nursing patients with hand-foot-mouth disease and the complications.Methods: Forty-nine cases of hand-foot-mouth disease were sterilized and separated;their mouth and skin were applied effective nursing care;proper food and psychology intervention were administered;the progress of the illness was observed carefully;and at the same time,the premonitory symptom of complications were dealt with and managed timely.Results: The oral mucous membrane of the 49 cases became smooth,their appetite improved,body weight was gained,body temperature became steady and physiological index was restored to normal.Conclusions: It is essential for a nurse to master the preventive points in nursing patients with hand-foot-mouth disease,such as sterilization,separation,skin care and psychology intervention,and to get the cooperation of relatives of the patients.
