The application of the external removal of inferior turbinate in nasal septum deviation operation

Objective:To explore the effects of the external removal of inferior turbinate in the correction of nasal septum deviation.Methods:Fifty-five patients with nasal septum deviation complicated with inferior turbinate hypertrophy were randomly divided into treatment group(33 cases) and nasal septum correction group(22 cases).The treatment group and nasal septum correction group were treated with the correction of nasal septum deviation combined with external removal of inferior turbinate and correction of nasal septum deviation,respectively.Results:All patients were followed up for more than 1 year.Amony the treatment group,25 patients were cured,8 patients were effective,the cure and improvement rates were 75.8% and 100.0%,respectively.Among the nasal septum correction group,7 patients were cured,11 patients were effective,and 4 patients were ineffective,the cure and improvement rates were 31.8% and 81.8%,respectively.The difference between the two groups had statistical significance(PConclusions:The correction of nasal septum deviation combined with external removal of inferior turbinate is little tissue damage,good effect,safety,consistent with the functional treatment,which is worth popularizing.
