    Discussion on the teaching reform in higher vocational nursing specialty based on Chinese Licensure Examination for Nurse

    • Objective:To find out ways of improving the nursing students' professional ability and the pass rate in Chinese Licensure Examination for Nurse(CLEN) in higher vocational colleges.Methods:On the basis of studying 2011 CLEN syllabus,we recompiled the textbook,redrew up the teaching plan and reformed the teaching and examination methods.Results:The nursing students' professional ability and CLEN pass rate improved significantly.In 2011,709 of the 723 graduates who had participated in CLEN passed the examination,with a pass rate of 98.06%;and in 2012,777 of the 780 graduates who had participated in the CLEN passed,with a pass rate of 99.62%.Conclusions:The teaching reform based on CLEN syllabus can improve the students' professional ability and their pass rate in CLEN.
