Application of case method in internal medicine instruction

Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the effect of case method in internal medicine instruction. Methods:The 2008 and 2009 clinical undergraduate classes in our college were divided into control group and experimental group.Case teaching method was applied to the experimental group,and the control group received the traditional approach.The quality of classroom teaching and curriculum test scores were taken as the evaluation index. Results:The curriculum test score of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P0.01). Conclusions:Case method may efficiently increase the students interest in learning,cultivate their innovation ability and vivify the classroom atmosphere.
