Abstract
Objective:To investigate the expression of S-phase kinase associated protein 2(Skp2) and their association with clinical pathological characteristics in bladder transitional cell cancinoma(BTCC).Methods:Skp2 protein was examined by immunohistochemical S-P staining method in 63 cases of BTCC and 15 cases of normal bladder tissue. Results:The positive rate of Skp2 in BTCC and normal bladder urothelial tissue were 47.6% and 6.7%,respectively,there was significant difference(P0.01).The expression level of Skp2 in BTCC was positively correlated with tumor grade and clinical stage(P0.01).Conclusions:Skp2 expression might play an important role in the development and progression of BTCC,and the examination of Skp2 expression might be a guide for diagnosis and a determinant of malignancy and prognosis of BTCC.
