Effect of traditional Chinese medicine Shuganjianpi mixture on prolactin levels in patients with liver cirrhosis

Objective:To investigate the effects of traditional Chinese medicine Shuganjianpi mixture on patients with liver cirrhosis.Methods:Sixty liver cirrhosis patients determined by traditional Chinese physicians as the type of stagnation of liver-QI with deficiency of the spleen were randomly divided into treatment group and control group.The patients in the control group were injected with Diammonium glycyrrhizinate and compound danshen injection once a day and the treatment group received oral administration of Shuganjianpi mixture twice a day in addition to the above therapy.The therapy lasted for 30 days in both groups.The ALT,ALB,TBI and serum PRL level in all the patients were determined before and after the treatment.Results:The ALT,ALB,TBI and PRL levels in both groups had no significant difference before treatment(P0.05);after the therapy,the ALT in the control group and the ALT,ALB,TBI and PRL levels in the treatment group changed significantly(P0.05 to P0.01).Conclusions:The traditional Chinese medicine Shuganjianpi mixture can decrease the serum level of PRL in posthepatitic cirrhosis patients determined as type of stagnation of liver-QI with deficiency of the spleen.
