Abstract
Objective:To investigate the correlation of bone density and blood lipids levels in diabetic patients and know the effects of blood lipids on bone density. Methods:Two hundred and thirty-one cases with type 2 diabetes were divided into two groups, which were subdivided into different blood lipid group according to the blood lipids levels. The correlation of bone density and blood lipids levels of different sexes were analysed. Results:The data of simple linear correlation demonstrated that the triglyceride levels in males were a positive correlativity with bone density(P0.01) and high density lipid in females were negative correlativity with bone density(P0.05-P0.01).Conclusions:High triglyceride in males and low high density lipid in postmenopausal females may have some protective effect on bone density.
