Abstract
Objective:To investigate the value of color Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of triple negative breast cancer(TNBC).Methods:One hundred and sixty-nine cases of breast occupying lesions which were diagnosed by color Doppler ultrasound and confirmed as breast cancer by surgery and pathology were divided into TNBC groups(37 cases) and non-TNBC group(132 cases) according to the expression of estrogen receptor(ER),progesterone receptor(PR) and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2) determined by immunohistochemical staining. The ultrasonic image, pathological manifestation and clinical condition of the 2 groups were compared and analyzed. Results:Ultrasonic images showed that the TNBC group had a greater proportion in the masses with clear boundary and a smaller proportion in the masses with short burr on the edge than the non-TNBC group(P0.05);the TNBC group had lower echoes and less calcification than the non-TNBC group(P0.01),and its posterior sound shadow was less attenuated(P0.05);most of the masses in TNBC group showed no blood stream or little blood stream(P0.05);the proportion of flow resistance index0.7 in TNBC group was greater than that in non-TNBC group(P0.05).Pathological examinations showed that axillary lymph node metastases occurred more frequently in the TNBC group(P0.05).Conclusions:The above features make the mass more likely to be a benign one.The technique of color Doppler ultrasound is of use in the early diagnosis of TNBC.
