The distribution and clinical significance of hepatitis B virus B, C genotype in Chizhou district

Objective：To investigate the distribution of HBV B,C genotypes in Chizhou district and its clinical significance.Methods：The genotypes of 116 HBV-infected patients were determined by quantitative fluorescent PCR.The correlation of HBV genotype and clinical characteristics of patients were analyzed.Results：Among the 116 serum samples of HBV-infected patients,the genotype B and C were 75 cases and 39 cases respectively,the genotype B/C was 2 cases.There had no significant difference of clinical parameters between the different genotypes(P〉0.05).The positive rate of HBeAg in genotype C group was 53.8%,which was higher than that in genotype B group(30.7%)(2=5.82,P〈0.05).Conclusions：HBV genotype B is predominant in Chizhou district,following by genotype C.HBV genotype C is related to severity liver disease.
