Objective To understand the cognition and nursing experience of urology nurses regarding early activities after partial nephrectomy, explore the obstructive factors in clinical practice, and provide references for promoting early activities.
Methods According to the purview sampling method, 16 urology nurses from a tertiary grade A hospital in Bengbu City were selected for semi-structured interviews. With the aid of the theoretical domain framework, the interview data were analyzed using the thematic analysis method, and imported into NVivo 15.0 software for data management, coding and induction.
Results A total of 5 topics related to the theoretical domain framework were extracted: outcome beliefs (conservative clinical implementation status, benefit perception, risk perception), social and professional roles and identities (conflict of doctor-nurse concepts, patient trust bias), knowledge and skills (inflexibly assessment criteria, absence of activity processes), environment and resources (insufficient human resources and tool support, insufficient multidisciplinary collaboration, insufficient leadership support), emotion regulation (nurses' responsibility anxiety, patient's fear of pain).
Conclusions In the process of early postoperative activities for patients undergoing partial nephrectomy, it is necessary not only to effectively apply positive intervention methods such as multidisciplinary collaboration, setting up "activity assistance posts", and soothing patients' emotions, but also to accelerate the construction of assessment criteria and universal activity processes, so as to improve the implementation effect of early postoperative activities in multiple aspects and achieve the intervention goal oriented towards patients' functional recovery.
