Application of rapid-prototyping model in the plastic surgery teaching of complex orbital fracture

Objective: To explore the application of the three dimensional rapid-prototyping (RP) of complex orbital fracture model in plastic surgery teaching effectiveness.Methods: Using the data of head CT three-dimensional reconstructiona and RP technology,orbital fracture model was produced for clinical and theoretical teaching of trauma.Results: Students had a preliminary understanding of the complexity of orbital fracture,and a further understanding of orbital fracture diagnosis and treatment methods.Conclusions: Through the three dimensional rapid-prototyping,the students can visually aware of the orbital fractures in the clinical teaching,and improve the ability of diagnosis and treatment on orbital fractures.
