Ureteroscope holmium laser lithotripsy in the management of upper urinary tract radiolucent calculi: report of 42 cases

Objective: To investigate the effects of ureteroscope holmium laser lithotripsy on the management of upper urinary tract radiolucent calculi.Methods: Ureteroscope holmium laser lithotripsy was applied to the treatment of upper urinary tract radiolucent calculi in 42 cases,and the effects were evaluated.Results: The mean time for ureteroscope holmium laser lithotripsy was 21 min(from 15 to 70 minutes).Successful lithotrpsy was achieved in 39 cases and the success rate was 93%.Conclusions: The method of ureteroscope holmium laser lithotripsy is a safe and effective procedure for the treatment of upper urinary calculi,especially for upper urinary tract radiolucent calculi.
