Study of the optimum extraction process of paeonol from cortex moutan

Objective:To optimize the extraction process of paeonol by steam distillation.Methods:Referring to the content of paeonol,an orthogonal design table L9(34) was used with the factors of extraction time,water-adding amount,medicinal size and salt content.Results:The optimal process of extraction was as follows:the granularity of paeonia suffruticosa andr was (0.20.05)cm,adding 6 times amount of water,adding 1% sodium,the extraction time was 3 h.Conclusions:Experiments show that this method is effective to improve the extraction process of Paeonol.
