Abstract
Objective: To investigate the changes of brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) level in patients with chronic renal failure(CRF) and analyze its correlation with cardiac function. Methods: Echocardiographic parameters, serum creatinine and BNP levels of 90 patients with CRF were determined in our hospital. The relationship between plasma BNP level and echocardiographic parameters(LVPW,IVS,EF) in different renal function(CKD) classification and NYHA functional class were compared and analyzed. Results: When glomerular filtration rate 60(ml.min-1.1.73 m-2),there was no statistical significance about plasma BNP level in hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and different CKD stages patients(P 0.05),but was significantly difference between patients in different NYHA groups(P 0.01),and with increased plasma BNP level,EF value was lower,IVS and LVPW values were higher(P 0.05).Conclusions: Worse cardiac function in patients with CRF,higher the plasma BNP content, which contribute to diagnosis and treatment monitoring for impaired cardiac function.
