    Effect of peer education on internet addiction intervention in college students

    • Objective: To discuss the influence of peer education on internet addiction in college students.Methods: Fifty-four 3-year college students of a university in Anhui province were chosen to be as the study subjects.Those who were selected to do the peer education were trained and thereafter they would do the peer education for other students.The morbidity of addiction trend,addiction rate,psychology health level,dealing measure scales before and after intervention were compared.Results: Before intervention,the addiction rate was 11.1% and the addiction trend morbidity was 14.8%,these both were decreased to 1.9% after intervention,which were shown significant statistical significances(P 0.01).After the intervention,the total scores of SCL-90,somatization,sensitivity of interpersonal relations,depression hostility,phobia anxiety paranoid idention and psychoticism are lower than they were before the intervention(P 0.05-P 0.01);the negative style decreased considerobly(P 0.01).Conclusions: The peer education can reduce the internet addiction of college students,increase the psychological health level and improve the negative dealing measures.
