Abstract
Objective:To observe the clinical effects of dexmedetomidine given by total intra venous anaesthesia igject(TIVAI)mode in preventing shivering during low epidural anesthesia. Methods:Sixty ASA Ⅰ or Ⅱ patients receiving low epidural anesthesia were randomly divided into observation group and control group by single blind method. In the observation group dexmedetomidine was given by TIVAI mode at a concentration of 0.8 g/kg within 15 minutes, and then dexmedetomidine was infused consistently at the rate of 0.2 gkg-1h-1until the end of operation;while in control group,0.9% sodium chloride injection was given by TIVAI mode instead. Results:The incidence and the extent of shivering in the control group was significantly higher than that in the observation group(P0.01);after the operation, more patients in the control group complained of discomfort during operation(P0.01).And 36.7% of them was not relieved until intervention was applied. Conclusions:Dexmedetomidine given by TIVAI mode can effectively prevent the incidence of shivering during low epidural anesthesia and make the patients feel peaceful and comfortable, which adapts to the current requirements of comfortable medical treatment.
