Macrolides for treatment of asthmatic disease in infants

Objective:To observe the effect of macrolides in treatment of infant asthmatic respiratory diseases.Methods:One hundred and fifty infants with asthmatic diseases were randomly divided into two groups.The 80 cases in the treatment group were administered macrolides antibiotics and the 70 cases in control group received -lactam antibiotics.The curative effects were compared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate was 86.25% in the treatment group and 70.00% in the control(P0.05).The symptom release time and length of hospital stay in the treatment group were less than those of the control(P0.05-P0.01).All the patients were followed up for one year.The recurrence rate was 40.00% in the treatment group and 58.57% in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusions:Macrolides is effective on infant asthmatic respiratory diseases and the prognosis is satisfactory.It is worth widely popularizing.
