Clinical analysis of severe cerebral damage complicated with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome

    • Objective:To analyse the clinical characteristics and prevention measures of severe cerebral damage complicated with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome(MODS).Methods:Forty-five patients with severe cerebral damage with 3 to 11 Glasgow coma scores complicated with MODS were treated with control the primary disease and prevention complications. The clinical data of incidence, clinical characteristics and mortality of all patients were retrospectively analyzed. Results:The incidence and pathogenic condition of patients with severe cerebral damage complicated with MODS were high(88.9%)and heavy respectively.Organ dysfunction of pulmonary, stomach and intestine, kidney and heart often happened. The number of organ involved was more than or equal to 3,which mortality was higher than that in patients with 2 organs involved(P0.01).Conclusions:Patients with severe cerebral damage is prone to MODS.The involved organ number is directly related to fatality rate.Treating primary disease, early monitoring organ function, protecting other organ function and prevent multiple organ function failure should be implemented.Comprehensive treatment is a key mean to reduce the mortality rate and improve the prognosis.
