The curative effect of operation in the treatment of open floating knee injury in 26 patients

Abstract
Objective: To explore the curative effects of operation in the treatment of open floating knee injury.Methods:Twenty-six patients with open floating knee injury were treated with operation,and were classified according to the fracture type and open injury.All cases were traeted with emergency debridement.The fracture was treated with external fixation,plate and intramedullary fixation.The injury soft tissue was repaired with primary suture,skin grafting and tissue flap transposition.Results:Except 1 case of amputation,25 cases were follwed up for 6 months to 6 years.The fracture healing of 22 cases were good,its healing time ranged from 3 to 8 months.The fracture of 2 cases healed by bone grafting.All tissue flap transposition survived.According to the Karlstrom and Olerud's criteria for ipsilateral femoral and tibial fracture,9 cases were excellent,11 cases were good,4 cases were fair and 2 cases were poor. Conclusions:During the treatment of open floating knee injury,the reconstruction of the bone continuity should be paid attention to,but pay more attention to the soft tissue repair,combined injury treatment,treatment order and measures and regaining the function maximally.
