Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the clinical effect of hip prosthetic replacement in treating unstable intertrochanteric fractures in senile patients.Methods: Totally 49 senile patients with unstable intertroehanteric fraetures were treated by hip prosthetic replacement, and its outcome evaluated by Harris scoring system.Results: Successful operation was achieved in 49 patients whose hip joint function recovered to the pre-injury level.The follow-up period ranged from 6 to 36 months.According to Harris standard-the rate of excellent and good was 83.8.Conclusions: It is a proper treatment for senile patients with osteoporosis and unstable femoral intertrochanteric fracture.
