Abstract
Objective: To investigate the longterm effects of sleeve lobectomy in the treatment of central lung cancer in older patients.Methods:Eighty-three patients with central lung cancer treated with sleeve lobectomy were divided into older group(36 cases) and non-older group (47 cases). The 5-year survival rate and some clinical data of two groups were analysed. Results:No seriously postoperative complications in two groups were found. The postoperative forced vital capacity(FVC) and forced expiratory volume in 1 second(FVC1) and the ratio of FVC to FVC1 of two groups after operation were less than those in preoperation (P0.01).The differences of the postoperatively clinical data of two groups were not statistical significance(P0.05).The 3-year and 5-year survival rates in elder group and non-older group were 61.1% & 52.8% and 61.7% & 53.2%,respectively,the differences of which were not statistical significance(P0.05).Conclusions:Sleeve lobectomy in the treatment of central lung cancer in older patients is safe, less complications and high survival rate, which can reserve lung function of patients in large degree and be worthy of clinical application.
