The efficacy of neuroendoscopic surgery in treatment of 12 cases with symptomatic arachnoid cysts of middle cranial fossa

Objective: To explore the efficiency， safety and microtraumatity of neuroendoscopic therapy for symptomatic arachnoid cysts of middle cranial fossa.Methods: Twelve cases with symptomatic arachnoid cysts of middle cranial fossa were treated with partial stripping of arachnold membranes combined with fistulation by neuroendoscopy.Results: The symptoms of 11 cases except 1 case with oculomotor nerve paralysis were obviously improved.Conclusions: Treatment of symptomatic arachnoid cysts of middle cranial fossa with neuroendoscopy is safety， good effects and less complications，which is worthy of being widely applied in clinic.
