Comparison of efficacy of two high ligation in treatment of varicocele

Objective: To explore the clinical effects of treatment varicocele with two kinds of high ligation via retroperitoneum.Methods: Twenty-four patients with varicocele were divided into group A and group B.Patients of group A were treated with the high ligation of spermatic vein and artery via retroperitoneum，patients of group B were treated with the high ligation of spermatic vein via retroperitoneum.The complications and quality of semen of two groups were analysed.Results: The effects of two high ligations were good， and the average operation time and hospital stays were 25 mins and 4 days respectively.Two cases of group B recured，and the orchiatrophy and long-term complications of two groups were not found during following up for 6 to 12 months.Sperm density，motility rate and vigor in both groups were significantly improved after surgery(P0.01) .Conclusions: Two ligation procedures have obvious good effects including short hospital stays and low cost，which can meet the demands of rural medical characteristics.The surgery of group A has innovation， simple and easy to be spreaded.
