    The hysteroscope electrotomy for treatment of intrauterine occupying lesions: reports of 69 cases

    • Objective: To study the effect and advantages of hysteroscope electrotomy in treatment of intrauterine occupying lesions.Methods: Sixtynine cases of intrauterine lesions including 41 cases of submucous myoma of the uterus(type 0 28 cases, type Ⅰ 11 cases and type Ⅱ 2 cases) and 28 cases of endometrial polyps underwent hysteroscope electrotomy.Results: Transcervical resection was performed successfully on 68 cases, and one case with type Ⅱ submucous myoma was converted to open surgery.The average operation time was(31.4 11.0) min,blood loss(20.7 13.9) ml and hospital stay(5.74 1.70) d.Uterine bleeding continued for(5.33 1.47) d.No syndrome of transurethal resection,uterine perforation or injury of the adjacent organs occurred.The satisfaction rate reached 98.5% in the 6 months' follow-up.Conclusions: Hysteroscope is safe and effective for treatment of intrauterine occupying lesions with the advantages of little trauma and hemorrhage, rapid recovery and short hospital stay.Proper selection of operation indications and full mastery of operation skills may achieve satisfactory results.
