Abstract
Objective: To analyze the transrectal ultrasonographic features and level of serum prostate specific antigen(PSA) of prostate cancer and improve its diagnosis rate. Methods:Ultrasonographic features and the levels of serum PSA of 30 cases with prostate cancer diagnosed by transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsy were classified and analysed. Results:Diffuse infiltration type were in 12 cases.Hypoechoic areas were found in the entire or a lobe of prostate, its boundary was not clear, local blood flow was rich and blood flow beam was random distribution.Infiltration with nodular type were in 5 cases. In addition to the above features, sphere node was found at the same location.Solitary nodular type were in 7 cases, solitary node were detected in prostate.Six cases had not abnormal ultrasonography. The serum PSA levels of 4 cases were from 4 - 10 ng / ml,the serum PSA levels of 8 cases were from 10 - 50 ng / ml and the serum PSA levels of 18 cases were higher than 50 ng / ml.Conclusions:The sonographic manifestation of prostate cancer has certain regularity, which can guide biopsy.Biopsy is recommended in patients with normal ultrasonography and less than 10 ng / m1 of serum PSA,which can improve the diagnosis rate of prostate cancer.
