Methods: Sixty-four cases with GERD were randomly divided into A group which were treated with oral 40 mg esomeprazole and B group which were treated with oral 40 mg omemeprazole once a day for 4 weeks. Results: The total effective rates of symptom remission of group A and B were 96. 6% and 77. 1%, respectively, which had no statistical differences(P > 0. 05) ; the cure rates of csophagitis of group A and B were 93. 1% and 65. 7%, respectively, which had statistical differences(P <0. 05) . Conclusions: The cure rates of esomepraole are better than that of omemeprazole.
