The effect of intra-aortic balloon counterpulsation in the treatment of acute massive myocardial infarction complicated with cardiogenic shock in 11 cases

ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical effects of intra-arotic balloon counterpulsation in the treatment of acute massive myocardial infarction complicated with cardiogenic shock. Methods: Eleven patients with acute myocardial infarction and cardio genic shock after intra-arotic balloon pump( IABP) therapy.Results: The hemodynamics in 8 patients were stable，3 cases died of pump failure. Conclusions: IABP can effectively improve hemodynamics，which is good for improving the survival rate of myocardial infarction patients
