Effect of compound lidocaine cream on the tolerance of indwelling catheter in male patients with general anesthesia

    • ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of compound lidocaine cream on the tolerance of indwelling catheter in male patients with general anesthesia. Methods: Eighty male patients with general anesthesia were randomly divided into control group and study group, 40 cases in each group. The control group and study group were treated with conventional catheter and compound lidocaine cream swearing catheter, respectively. The hemodynamics during anesthesia recovery, the catheter tolerance and agitation in two groups were observed. Results: The blood pressure and heart rate during anesthesia recovery in control group were significantly higher than those in study group( P 0.01) .The well tolerated rate of catheter in control group( 10.0%) was significantly less than that in study group( 75.0%) ( P 0.01) . Conclusions: Compound lidocaine cream can significantly improve the tolerance of indwelling catheter, and effectively reduce the incidence of agitation caused by urinary pain in male patients after general anesthesia.
