The ultrasound diagnosis and pathologic analysis of solitary fibrous tumors in 6 cases

    • Objective: To explore the ultrasonic diagnostics features of solitary fibrous tumors (SFT) and their relationships with pathology. Methods: The features of ultrasonic diagnostics, pathomorphology and immunophenotyping of 6 cases with SFT diagnosed by pathology were retrospectively analysed. results: Two cases locating in pelvic cavity,1 case locating in neck,1 case locating in abdominal wall,1 case locating in genal region and 1 case locating in zygomatic region were found. The major clinical manifestations were nonspecific clinical symptoms in lesions. The ultrasonography and color Doppler flow imaging showed hypoechoic area and blood flow sign in the inner of lesion. Fusiform tumor cell sparse area and concentration area and rich interstitial blood vessels with partial expanding were observed in pathology. The positive staining of CD34,CD99,Bcl-2 and Vimentin were detected by immunohistochemistry. Conclusions: SFT with well-encapsulated tumor is the low echo conglomeration with clear boundaries. The lowresistance index of haemodynamics suggests that it maybe malignancy, which can be diagnosed by immunohistochemistry.
