Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological characteristics of signet ring cell carcinoma of the stomach for early detection and treatment.Methods: The clinicopathological characteristics of 15 cases with signet ring cell carcinoma of the stomach proved by pathology were reviewed.Results: One case with omentum metastasis and 10 cases with lymphatic metastasis were found.The less curvature of the antrum was the most common location(7 cases),The ulcerative type was the common type(9 cases)and the preoperative levels of carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)of 4 cases were high.Conclusions: Signet ring cell carcinoma of stomach is a diffusedly invasive growth, and which can invade the total gastric wall and has node metastasis.The increasing CEA levels can hint the happening of the disease.
