Relationship between electrocardiography ischemic ST-T segment changes and prognosis in acute cerebral infarction

    • Objective: To investigate the relationship between electrocardiography (ECG)ischemic ST-T segment changes and prognosis in patients with acute cerebral infarction. Methods: ECG was checked on admission and 7 days later in 77 patients with acute cerebral infarction.According to the ECG ischemic ST-T segment changes, patients were divided into three groups: continuing ECG ischemic ST-T segment changes group, temporary ECG ischemic ST-T segment changes group,no ECG ischemic ST-T segment changes group. Then the relationship between ECG ischemic ST-T segment changes and disease condition, size of infarction and prognosis were analyzed. Results: Compared with the other two groups, continuing ECG ischemic ST-T segment changes group showed severer condition, larger size of infarction, poorer prognosis, and there were the significant differences(P<0.05 to P<0.01).Conclusions: The changes of ECG ischemic ST-T segment could be as an indication for disease condition, infarction size and prognosis.A dynamic observing of ECG ischemic ST-T segment changes and timely therapy are advantageous for patients with acute cerebral infarction.
