Abstract
Objective: To compare the treatment effects of the improved transvaginal hysterectomy( TVH) and conventional vaginal hysterectomy. Methods: Thirty-two patients with uterine size for 12 to 16 gestational age and uterine quality for 280 for 330 g were treated with the improved TVH( the improved group),37 patients with uterine size for 12 to 18 gestational age and uterine quality for 270 to 430 g were treated with the conventional TVH( the conventional group). The operative time, blood loss, postoperative exhaust time and side injury in two groups were compared. Results: The operative time, blood loss and postoperative exhaust time in improved group were significantly shorter than those in conventional group( P 0. 01). Conclusions: The improved TVH is very simple and do not need special equipment, which is minimal invasion, less bleeding, fast recovery and shorter hospital stays for large hysterectomy.
