Clinical application of 10 cases of improved Vechitti vaginoplasty by Retzius gap puncture

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the clinical value of improved Vechitti vaginoplasty by Retzius gap puncture for treatment of congenital absence of vagina and uterus.Methods:The puncture was performed in the upper border of the symphysis pubis toward the vestibula through the abdominal wall,then a traction thread whose terminal was fixed by a button was drawn through the Retzius gap and lifted from the belly; at the same time,the technique of vaginal pushing-up was applied.Eventually,the vagina was reconstructed.Results:The improved Vechitti vaginoplasty by Retzius gap puncture was successful in all the 10 patients; three months later,the average vaginal length was 9-10 cm with normal elasticity and color.Conclusions:The improved Vechitti vaginoplasty has the advantages of easy operation and minimal invasion.It is worth popularizing.
