The clinical application of new standard of gestational diabetes mellitus

Objective:To investigate the clinical application of new standard of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM).Methods:Eight hundred pregnant women(study group) were tested by 75 g oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT) according to the new standard after 24 weeks of pregnancy.Seven hundred and fifty pregnant women(control group) were tested by 50 g OGTT,then 75 g OGTT was added in the patients with sugar sieve abnormality after 24 weeks of pregnancy.Results:The pregnant women screening rate of study group(97.50%) was significantly higher than that in control group(87.07%) (P 0.01).The prevalence rate of GDM in study group and control group were 6.25% and 4.13%,respectively,the difference of which was not statistical significance(P 0.05).Conclusions:The screening rate of study group is better than that in control group,its prevalence rate of GDM increases according to new standard.
