Intralesional injection of pingyangmycin guided by ultrasound in treatment for hemangiomas and vascular malformations in special regions

Objective: To investigate the effectiveness of pingyangmycin intralesional injection therapy guided by ultrasound for hemangiomas and vascular malformations in special regions.Methods: Fifteen cases of hemangiomas and vascular malformations in special regions were treated with intralesional injection of pingyangmycin guided by ultrasound.The dose was less than 8 mg each time;repeated injection was often necessary every three weeks and the total dosage was less than 70 mg.Results: The anomalies in 10 patients were cured,4 cases improved and 1 case had no response.Conclusions: Intralesional injection of Pingyangmycin guided by ultrasound therapy is simple,safe and reliable for treatment of hemangiomas and vascular malformations in special regions,which may decrease or avoide the complications and achieve better results.
