The effect of vacuum suction drainage combined with skin graft in the treatment of severe soft tissue defect complicated with special infected wound

Objective: To investigate the effects of vacuum suction drainage(VSD) combined with skin graft in the treatment of severe soft tissue defect complicated with specially infected wound. Methods: Eighteen patients with soft tissue defect complicated with special nfected wound were treated with VSD dressing and liquid antibiotics regularly irrigating the wound. The fresh and clean. wound was treated with mesh skin graft，and VSD dressing，negative pressure suction drainage and physiological saline slow dripping after ranulation tissue forming. Results: The infection in the wound was controlled，granulation was fresh and clean，oozing bleeding was obvious，wound surface was smooth and no necrotic tissue and abnormal oozing were found. The skin graft was survival，pink color and normal blood supplying after it was transplanted. The average wound healing time was 14 d and VSD dressing was applied for 2. 5 times.Conclusions: VSD combining with skin graft is an effective means for treating soft tissue defect complicated with specially infected wound.
