    Suspension of frontal aponeurosis for severe congenital blepharoptosis: report of 22 cases

    • Objective: To evaluate the procedure of suspending frontal aponeurosis for treatment of severe blepharoptosis.Methods: Twenty-two patients(28 eyes) with severe ptosis were treated by suspending the frontal aponeurosis.The follow-up ranged from six to twelve months.Results: The operative effect was satisfactory in all the cases.Lagophthalmias disappeared about two months after operation,no exposure keratitis occurred.Conclusions: Compared with traditional methods,the procedure of suspending frontal aponeurosis is simple and reliable with the advantages of less damage,less post-operation complication and better contour.It is thechoice therapy for blepharoptosis.
