    • Objective: To find out a simple and feasible method of taking the temperature of newborns nursed in the incubator.Methods: The temperature of 42 neonates in the incubators was measured at their axillar,back,waist,buttock and rectum at the same time,then the results were compared.Results: The waist temperature was higher than the axillary temperature,buttock temperature or rectal temperature(P<0.01),and the back temperature was also higher than the axillary temperature and buttock temperature(P<0.05).Conclusions: It is convenient and safe to take the temperature of the newborns in the incubators at the waist.It can take the place of back temperature-taking and worth popularizing.
